What Are Workflow Management Rules?

Workflow management rules allow companies to define their business processes without needing an extensive knowledge of programming. These rules aid organizations in automating the execution of tasks that need to be completed, and also provide the ability to spot possible issues with a process in real-time.

In a workflow, evaluation criteria determine when an action should be carried out. The criteria can be based on various parameters, including the field’s value, the type of record or ownership of records, and much more. Workflow rules are able to be configured to trigger actions based upon events involving notes in specific modules. For example, a company could create a rule to be executed when notes are added or modified in order that it is easy for support teams to keep track of mentions of competitors in emails and then respond quickly.

Once a rule has been activated, the action can be either an immediate one or a scheduled one. Instant actions are activated right after the rule is activated. Scheduled actions are activated later.

The scheduled action will be executed at the date and time specified. The action could be a task, email notification field update webhook, or even a function. You can also choose any email notifications fields, tasks, or webhooks to be associated with the scheduled action. You can also choose tags to use to filter the recorded information for the specific action.
